How it all began…
My husband and I run a small hobby farm in South Montrose, where we enjoy caring for our animals and giving them the best life possible. Choosing to raise cows for butchering wasn’t an easy decision for me—unlike my husband, who grew up on a farm, I always thought of animals as pets. But through farm life, experiencing the full cycle, and developing a deep respect for our animals, I found peace with it. When it came time to select our cuts of meat, we were given the option to have tallow rendered. At first, we thought we’d sell it for cooking, but I decided to take a more creative path instead.
After learning the detailed process of rendering beef suet, I set out on my journey. Countless test batches later, our Beef Tallow Skincare line was created! For us, raising a calf into a full-grown cow, honoring our animals for the nourishment they provide, and utilizing as much of the animal as possible represents the true full circle of our business. We are committed to giving our animals the best life possible—feeding them wholesome, nutritious food, offering clean and spacious pastures, and surrounding them with the care and love they deserve.
The response to our small business has been far greater than we ever imagined. However, the suet from our own cows isn’t enough to meet the demand for our beef tallow skincare products. That’s why we created our Trusted Herd Partnerships. We partner with local farms that share our values and care for their animals the same way we do. These partnerships allow us to stay true to our mission while supporting other farmers and keeping our skincare rooted in the heart of NEPA.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about our story and the inspiration behind our business. Our goal is not only to share the incredible benefits of beef tallow for your skin but also to educate about the farming practices and values that guide us every day. Your support means the world to us—we’re truly grateful!
